She will forward referrals to A Wider Circle for approval; Wider Circle schedules the client and Rose sends the client a letter (cc to case manager) with date/time for their pick up at 9159-C Brookeville Rd., Silver Spring. Clients must get their own transportation for pick up.

Housing Charities Inc. (HCI)

Real Estate Effort for Affordable Community Housing (REACH): Interest free loans up to $7500 to assist with down payment and closing cost for first time homebuyers.
Applicant must have resided or worked within the corporate limits of the City of Rockville for at least one year. Applicants must be pre-qualified for a mortgage and must attend a training class operated by Housing Charities. The property must be located within the Rockville City limits.


MPDU HOMEBUYING: Applications are accepted 2 times a year, January and July. HOC residents must earn a minimum of $35,000 to qualify. Applicants call 240-777-3600 or see www.montgomerycountymd.gov/dhctmpl.asp?url =/Content/DHCA/housing/housing_P/mpdu.asp.

HOUSING SEARCH: www.mdhousingsearch.org is a web site for the Department of Housing and Community Development (DHCD) of the State of Maryland. DHCD also offers the Bridge Program which is a State funded rental assistance program for people with disabilities.

HOMEBUYING PREPARATION: Free training is available from Housing Charities, Inc. at 301-590-2014 and HOC's program, 933- HOME.
Housing Charities offers sessions in English and Spanish for first-time homebuyers. They are held in the County Council Office Building, Rockville. Call 590-2014 for information.

American Dream Charity Inc. helps first-time home buyers. Call 301-977-9133.

Employment—Mon., Tues., Thurs., Fri. at 8:30am for Latino men, 9:30am for Latina women, 10:30am for English speakers can come for job listings, a workshop on job search, resume help, interview skills, dress for success, referral to trainings ESL—Class schedules Mon.-Thurs., 6:30pm-8:30pm; Sat. 10am-1pm for multi-level ESL classes, conversation club; Spanish literacy program evenings and Sat.; also career development for those with higher English skills (coordinated with Montgomery Works), resume assistance, ID’s; also family literacy (parents come at 6pm with children and learn how to help children with homework, then parents’ ESL class starts @ 6:30, when children are given child care during the parents’ class) Immigration—(by appointment only) Citizenship, sponsorship, work permits, family member petitions, deportation, etc.; Wed. at 1 pm Family Service Support—Mon.-Fri., 8:30am-12pm help is given for M-CHIP, food stamps, Manna, Interfaith Clothing referrals and application forms.
