DISABLED PARTICIPANTS: Anyone who receives SSI can receive child care for free from POC. Call Purchase of Care, 240-777-1155, or Benefits Info-Source, 301-587-4137 (SSDI recipients do not have this benefit.)

DEVELOPMENTAL DISABILITIES: The DDA office serving Montgomery County is at 312 Marshall Ave., 5th floor, Laurel, MD 20707; 301-362-5100 or 1-888-207-2479.

Check with Montgomery College about discounts for classes: 279-5058 or 738-1765. The college offers a range of disability support services. Check the DSS website.

The Job Accommodation Network (JAN) is a free service of the Office of Disability Employment Policy of the U.S. Department of Labor. JAN's mission is to facilitate the employment and retention of workers with disabilities by providing employers, people with disabilities, and other interested parties with information on job accommodations and related subjects. Contact the Montgomery County Crisis Center for problems dealing with the mentally ill or emotionally unstable when a response should not wait. The Center is at 1301 Piccard Drive, near the intersection with West Gude Drive. The Center and its crisis line, 240-777-4000, are always open. The Center is accessible from Ride-On bus routes 63, 45, 66, and 54.
