CHILD CARE
For working parents, this is the associated need --

Every community in Maryland is served by one of twelve regional child care resource and referral centers (CCR&Rs). Together, these CCR&Rs make up the Maryland Child Care Resource Network, which provides leadership and services designed to improve the quality, availability, and affordability of child care in communities across the state. That site shows child care locations and training programs for providers. This partnership is administered by the Maryland Committee for Children under a contract with the Maryland Department of Human Resources.
In that network, the Montgomery County Child Care Resource and Referral Center also known as the Children's Resource Center (332 W. Edmonston Dr., Rockville; main phone number 240-777-3110) provides counseling and referral services to parents regarding child care. Call it for options regarding the location of licensed child care ("LOCATE") at 240-777-3130 or visit its website and download the Child Care Request form. Also within the County's Department of Health and Human Services is the office of Early Childhood Services, and its website gives additional information and links. See also www.montgomerycountymd.gov/earlychildhoodservices.

To obtain information and resources to help children 0-5 call ChildLink at 240-777-4769.

Come in to use computer workstations at the Rockville Library, 240- 777-0140; Childcare 240-777-1177; Children's Resource Center, 240-777- 3110; HHS 240-777-1510; East County HHS 240-777-4480. In Spanish, 301-279- 1764.

Child care subsidies:
If working or while looking for employment, participants should apply for child care assistance. The Child Care Subsidy program (CCS, previously POC) is administered by the Montgomery County DSS; 401 Hungerford Drive, 5th Floor; Rockville, Maryland 20850; Phone: (240) 777-4513
